I sent money to India but the recipient received lesser amount of money than the amount sent. What should I do?

The amount receivable by the recipient will be notified to you by your remittance transfer provider before you make the transaction. Typically, the actual amount being transferred may be less because of the applicable taxes and fees deduction. It may also be if youhave selected a floating or indicative exchange rate while initiating the transaction.
In case of discrepancy between the notified amount and the amount received, you can contact your provider and submit an application to investigate the error. As per the federal law, the company has 90 days to investigate the error and report back to you with the investigation results.
If you are still not satisfied with the investigation results, you can submit a complaint to CFPB here.
